In recent days we participated in a technical workshop organized by the Ministry of Climate and Environment presenting advanced techniques/technologies in the nuclear sector. This is aimed at increasing the participation of Polish companies in the construction of nuclear power plants in the world and Poland.
The ongoing workshop presented the latest project management techniques, such as the digital construction process using BIM (Building Information Modelling), which means smarter use of information for faster and more environmentally friendly construction.
Modern techniques used in the construction of nuclear power plant infrastructure were presented. Using examples of nuclear power plants under construction around the world and small modular reactors (SMR), such as explosive metal sheathing. One of the few Polish companies presented its participation in the production of metal structures, the elements of which were used in the construction of the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant in England.
Speakers talked about past experience in building nuclear power plants around the world by prefabricating components in factories and then delivering them to the construction site. Representatives came from various countries such as France, Finland, Canada, the US and Poland.
